Methode der Dimensionsreduktion (MDR)

MDR ist eine neue Methode zur Simulation von Kontakt- und Reibungskräften zwischen elastischen und viskoelastischen Festkörpern. MDR ist einfach in der Anwendung, leicht zu erlernen und erfordert keine speziellen Kenntnisse in Kontaktmechanik. Die numerische Implementierung von MDR ist nahezu trivial und ermöglicht die direkte Simulation von Reibkontakten in Finite-Elemente-Methode oder Mehrkörperprogramme zu integrieren.

Der MDR liegt die Beobachtung zugrunde, dass enge Analogien zwischen bestimmten Arten von dreidimensionalen Kontaktproblemen und einfachsten Kontakten mit eindimensional elastischer Unterlage bestehen (Abb.). Dabei ist es wichtig zu betonen, dass dies keine Annäherung ist: Die Eigenschaften eindimensionaler Systeme stimmen genau mit denen des ursprünglichen dreidimensionalen Systems überein, wenn die Form der Körper modifiziert und die Elemente des Fundaments entsprechend definiert werden nach den Regeln der MDR.
